"Elaine", Our November Chef of the Month
We're not sure if Elaine's as wild as the wild lilies that grow in her yard, but you know how those red-heads are, and she's been seen in the company of 'other' men in and around Deer Lake Charlie's (see below). Rumor has it the unidentified man is a spy for Starbuck's trying to charm the rhubarb pie recipe out of our Chef of the Month!

Elaine's Rhubarb Cake
Makes 9 x 13 inch pan

2 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 stick margarine (1/2 c.)
1 egg
1 c. sour milk with 1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
3 c diced rhubarb

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon



Preheat oven to 350 F.

Mix brown sugar (2 1/2 c.) and margarine.
Add egg.
Stir
in remaining ingredients except sugars and cinnamon.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Sprinkle remaining brown and white sugar and cinnamon over top.

Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.
