Subject: Can I buy an "E" please??
Hi Girls, I guess none of the others will be surprised by this, but Winnie, honey, I am an EXTROVERT in block letters! I think I've actually become more of one in my old age, as I've come to realize there are more things I want to experience than I will ever have time on this earth to do! I'm an artist and a singer, I love people, and I've been lucky in life to have many long, long friendships. I count my two grown kids among my best friends.
Having said all that, I do not like traveling with bunches of people. It's too distracting for me, I prefer to go off exploring on my own. Hey, I can out-hike Shirley Maclaine and her backpack anyday, just look for me to be chatting with the locals five minutes after I arrive! (Used to drive my ex nuts. But then his idea of a vacation was hitting every restaurant in any given town and complaining about them all!!)
I don't know what the secret is to making long-lasting close friends with women, but my friendships with women are much more honest. Some men expect you to pass muster with them by either becoming one of the guys and thinking like them or knowing how to flirt with them- -or preferably both! None of my women friends would put up with that crap. I'm defintely more strongly identified with my gal pals and my gay guy pals than my straight male buddies. I don't know, there's a level of trust without all the @#!$%!! pressure of Playing the Game. Simple as that, I guess that's one secret anyway.
STEF WELCOME BACK DON'T LEAVE US AGAIN!
Hey, Missy and Jen, how are those spendthrift kids of yours? I can still remember telling my son years ago that if he wanted (fill in the blank toy of the week) and he hadn't saved enough allwance, he'd have to get a job to supplement it. I suggested mowing lawns. He looked at me and said: Mom, people have PEOPLE who do that! LMAO! I should have known then how he'd turn out . . .
Love, Rav
